PRACTICE

According to OdA MM, the term “medical massage” is inherently confusing and leaves much room for interpretation. A massage is medical if it is applied to a sick person in a manner appropriate to the patient and with a clear therapeutic objective.

The hand movement itself, i.e. the massage technique, is not medical, but the purpose of the treatment makes it medical.
This presupposes that the person being treated has some kind of disorder.

Illness always means an imbalance in the functioning of a body system or in its subtle interaction with others.

Every medical-therapeutic massage, regardless of the technique, tries to re-establish this balance. Directly by a balancing effect from the outside; indirectly by stimulating the regenerative capacity (self-healing capacity).

Medical-therapeutic massage is a stimulation therapy in which appropriate massage manoeuvres are applied by hand to all tissues of the body for healing (therapeutic) purposes. The essence of massage is the application of pressure and traction on the tissue by hand.

The techniques I use in my treatments are:

  • Classical massage
  • Foot Reflexology
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Electrotherapy
  • Connective tissue massage
  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Kinesotaping
  • Cupping
  • Sports massage
  • Trigger point therapy
